They said the bombs were dropping, so Parker sprung into action, retreated to his bunker and braced himself for the end of the world. The first thing he did was recheck the food supply, satisfying himself that he could survive for years on his vast supply. Hours later nothing had occurred. No booms, no shaking, nothing. He pulled out his radio, turned the crank several times, and tuned it trying to find any information, any broadcast. All he heard was music. Above ground, his neighbors enjoyed the use of his pool and barbecue without interference and had an excellent afternoon.
