“Hello, can I help you with something?” Helen approached the hiker warily but with the confidence that stated clearly that his was her land. “I’m, um, I’m just wondering if I’ve found the right place,” said the man. “Well, this isn’t the kind of place you wander upon accidentally,” she joked. She took in the majestic view through a visitor’s eyes, seeing it both gorgeous and remote. The man handed her a crumpled photograph. It was of a man and wife with their small boy. The man, she recognized immediately, was her late father. “You’d better come in,” she said.
