JKWriter's 100-word story for November 19, 2025

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on November 19, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

It was a typical Washington fall day...leaves on the ground, rain coming down, and the fresh crisp smell of good clean air. For the last forty years the couple had traversed the shores of the Puget Sound and they knew that soon they wouldn't be able to do it anymore...especially as the weather grew colder. Still, they held hands watching the tides roll out and the seals popping their heads above the water. Gulls squawked; geese flew in their vee formation toward warmer climates this time of year. They were happy in this moment; the rest could wait.
