“So, this is the line?” She looked back and forth, imagining the invisible barrier a thin strand of thread winding through the undergrowth. He raised his hand, placed it against the impossible wall. His palm glowed blue and energy crackled around his fingers. “So it would seem.” She placed her palm against his. They both turned their hands, trying to push through, but all they felt was resistance. His face looked determined, hers sad. He slid his hand down, found the bottom of the barrier, slipped his fingers underneath. Eyes widened. “I’ll go get a shovel!” they said in unison.
