Jackal wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on May 5, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. How many peppers did Peter Piper pick? Well, you can’t really answer the question without first asking yourself, what does Peter need the peppers for. Then once you know, you can further assess the desired amount necessary. Now, you also want to probably add a couple of extras just to have as a back up. With that in mind, let’s say he’s making a sandwich for himself and his family, that makes it 4 plus the extra and I’d say, in this scenario, Peter Piper picked approximately 6 to 7 pickled peppers.
