magisternihil's 100-word story for December 13, 2025
magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on December 13, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
Echel blew on the smoking cotton, satisfied as it became a small flame and caught the sticks. He stood and surveyed the surroundings. He was equidistant from each of the seven mounds, so no favoritism could be claimed. Hopefully that would be enough. He could make them out, small dots becoming the shapes of figures. Three from each, as was the tradition. These talks could mean chaos and more needless fighting or they could be what finally unites them. They’ll need unity once he tells them what is coming. They’ll need everyone working together if they are going to survive.
