Horacio couldn’t tell you how long it has been since he woke to find the world frozen. It’s hard to reckon time when it’s no longer moving. The first few “days” were the hardest. Panic set in immediately, and he ran through town trying to find anyone who was free from the stoppage like him, but no luck. There was nothing to do but wait. He found he was most comfortable in places that implied movement, like the local skate park. He could pretend he was simply mid-blink, that things would start back up any second now. Any second now.
