The gate had been in need of repair for almost a year and she had kept putting it off. But then last night happened. The noises had ripped her from sleep, sent her frantically looking for the source only to realize it was coming from down at the coop. She had raced down, expecting to find a fox with a bloody maw and all of her chickens dead. Instead she found her sole rooster Brutus strutting surrounded by fur and bones and teeth. All of the hens were safe. Yep, time to replace the gate. Best to keep Brutus happy.
