Isolation...it was the only punishment the woman could be given that would have been worse than death. The other punishment that had been comparable was the loss of her one true love. It'd been thirty years since she had been sent to this place. About fifteen years into her shunning, she had wondered if anyone still remembered her at all. These days, she never thought much about it...anyone at all that had mattered was either dead or had turned on her. Even after all of this time...she knew she'd do it again. Loving him was worth it.
