magisternihil's 100-word story for December 30, 2025
magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on December 30, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
Late. Late. I hate being late. Find a hobby, they said. Take pictures, draw, write poetry, something to take your mind off things and find a place where you can just be. But then reality interrupts, bangs on the window shouting you have somewhere to be. No more time for that pointless introspection! You have duties, deadlines, due dates! Why, when you’re in a hurry, is everyone else so lackadaisical about their day. Look, it’s great that you’re stopping to smell the roses, pal, but some of us have places to be, things to do, things to be. Like late.
