JKWriter's 100-word story for January 8, 2026
JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on January 8, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
Everywhere she turned the fog seemed to envelop her. The cold, damp rock floor of the unknown place felt unrelenting and severe. Even thought she had never been to this place before, there was a crushing familiarity that she couldn't place at first. Where was she? Why did she feel like she had been there before? There was a foreboding that clung to the gauzy whiteness. The confusion and fear were overwhelming; her mind struggled to remember something...it was important, but still the thoughts and memories she sought eluded her. It was then that she realized...she was asleep.
