Lenny could feel the heat from the crowd as he tried not to drown in the relentless ocean of sound. Why had he agreed to come out? To a party, of all things? A party?!? He closed his eyes and fought for deep breaths, visualizing where he wanted to be, the little house nestled in the rocks, the wind and the crash of the waves from the actual ocean the only music. Calm overtook him. Then wetness. He opened his eyes to find an entire beer soaking his pant leg, as an unapologetic partner stumbled away. Time to go home.
