JKWriter's 100-word story for January 21, 2026

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on January 21, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

The tree had stood there since the beginning of time and even in its mangled, deceased form, it commanded the respect of any who saw it. There was wisdom in it's dessicated branches and twisted form. Anything that had lived as long as it had and had survived as much as it had...deserved to stand even in death where it had began. Sariah looked upon this beautiful, once living thing with reverent admiration. How could she not? It had lived in such significant peacefulness yet still left an indelible mark. Humans could stand to learn a little of this.
