"Oooh....refreshed!" I thought after snoozing for an hour. It was already 4 p.m. and I decided to take a quick shower before heading to the library to return books I had borrowed for my research. My housekeeper went home early as she was not well. I stepped into the kitchen and...on the table sat a delicate slice of cake on a plate—pale yellow with a smooth, creamy white topping, garnished with a sprig of fresh herbs and a fork, placed casually. A ceramic mug on a matching saucer filled with spiced tea-just the way I liked!
