JKWriter's 100-word story for January 28, 2026

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on January 28, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

She was...indeed home. The light from her apartment unit was visible from the parking lot, but when Raymond called Tonya...she didn't answer her phone. He could even see her silhouette as she lifted her phone to look at it. Ray didn't know what to think, but the rejection he felt made his chest hurt. This had been the third time that he'd tried to come see her since their date and it was the third time she'd ignored his calls....and many more times over there she'd ignored his texts. The compulsion was overwhelming; he needed to stop!
