“What about this one?” Gemma asked, holding the album up in front of her face. He knew what she was doing, but it wasn’t going to work. She had done the same thing with Bowie and Alice Cooper. The latter almost did make him laugh. “Too moody,” he said. The face of Adele was replaced by Gemma’s as she lowered it. “Too moody? This from a guy who is moping around like the world is against him?” She did have a point. “Sorry, I just thought she was the one.” Gemma sighed. “No, SHE wasn’t.” And that’s when he knew.
