magisternihil's 100-word story for February 20, 2026

magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on February 20, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

“POST NO BILLS” was frankly a silly thing to put on a wall on a college campus. It started with pictures of Bill Murray, Bill Pullman, or any other famous Bill. Once those were torn down it was fake power bills, duck bills, and even a clay recreation of Mr. Bill from SNL. After that it normalized into what was actually meant to be prohibited in the first place, layers of previous defiances creating the welcoming landscape for “Help Wanted” and “Lost Cat” to take pride of place, only to be torn down or covered over eternally, humanity’s accidental art.
