“He’s in one of these, and when he comes out, we’ll have him,” said Perkins. “You’re saying this guy can just disappear into paintings?” asked Dupree. “Like some kind of magic?” Perkins scowled. “Look, I know it sounds insane, but I saw it myself. He passes through like it’s a door. The man robbed thirty-seven banks, and—“ “I believe what you’re saying, I just question the logic of having a picture of the safeguarded paintings out in the open. What if—?” Dupree didn’t have to finish his thought. Perkins realized he had provided the thief an escape route all along.
