JKWriter's 100-word story for March 7, 2026

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on March 7, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

Everything was a blur. The sound of the music, the proximity and closeness of the people...the way the strobe lights flashed in time with the booming beat. It was sensorial chaos and the girl began to shut down. She hated this entire evening. There was no pleasure in it whatsoever, but her father was determined to see her do "normal" teenage things. So much so, that he set these social outings up with his coworkers' kids. They weren't ever really that interested in having her around. Tonight was no different. The group she had been in...had ditched her.
