Viola stared at the stack of paintbrushes lying on her studio floor; stained with bright colors and hues from so many projects past. She didn't know why she didn't throw them out. Decades of brushes lay in that pile. Perhaps she saw them as part of the victory that she felt as each painting at reached their finish. Perhaps it was the more boring explanation that she was simply lazy...it was neither. It was a reminder that like falling in love. Art wasn't always exciting or beautiful. Sometimes it was messy and disorganized, but worth it all the same.
