JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on March 15, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
The wind whisked the umbrellas from a large display rack that sat outside the shop. As they blew away all Mauricio could do was stare up after them in complete awe. When he had decided to open all of them up, he'd thought their vibrant colors would attract the eyes of possible shoppers. People walking on the sidewalks and in cars did, in fact, stop what they were doing to observe the flock of floating parasols as the wind carried them away. It carried them quite a distance before it subsided; they drifted to the streets below. What a sight!
