JKWriter's 100-word story for March 18, 2026
JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on March 18, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
She sat at the typewriter waiting for the words that she hoped would to come. Writing was always easier than talking. It was Sarah's preferred method of communication and the sound as the typewriter keys hit the crisp white paper brought back memories of a childhood that was all books and reading...drawing and writing...magic and more. Computers had come in and made the tiny little word writing machine obsolete, but the nostalgia of hearing the sounds it made were memories that computers could never erase from the once budding writer in her basement room some forty years ago..
