"No!" Shariana screamed as she watched her one true love solidify into a stoney figure right before her very eyes. The witch who had cast the spell cackled, "We had a deal, girl...and you reneged on it. You will suffer more with him in your place." Tears streamed down her angry worried face, but she queried calmly, "So what must I do now to release both of us from this wickedness?" The witch cackled as she explained the task at hand. Shariana was no fool. There was every chance the hag would turn her to stone, too, upon completion.
