Erik's 100-word story for May 8, 2025

Erik wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on May 8, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

I always order two cups of coffee when I visit the Francesca’s on South Street. Two creams, and a dash of that stevia crap in each mug. I met her in this booth almost eight years ago. Big, teethy smile that matched her even bigger mouth… the fearless lass swore like a sailor who stubbed their peg leg. Always speaking her mind and never giving a shit what others thought. Boy do I envy that. But that exact quality is what got her into trouble. I still hang onto hope that she’ll bust through those doors. I know she will.
