JKWriter's 100-word story for April 6, 2026

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on April 6, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

The smell of the salty ocean waves coupled with the warm sun on my face seemed to wake me up a little. With people running to their jobs, then back home again only to wake up in a short space or time to do it all over again...this moment felt all the more significant to me. I had been running for years...mostly in a circle chasing dreams that weren't my own and following a path that I never chose. It was on this day I decided to stop running and to finally choose me. I never looked back.
