He opened his eyes slowly, unsure what to expect. For a moment he worried he had died. Even with his eyes wide open, things were still unclear. “Am I dead?” he asked aloud. “Oh, good, you’re finally awake,” said Noc. “Once again, no, you’re not dead,” she said with an audible sigh. Sim sat up and looked around. The fog, if that’s what it was, hung so thick even his nearby companion was partially shrouded by mist. “It has gotten thicker over the past hour. We have to move,” she said, walking away. With a increasingly familiar shrug, Sim followed.
