Dusty old tomes in a dusty old room. An inheritance I never wanted. The smell was overpowering when I walked into the library. The musty scent of moldering paper and ink. Not unpleasant, but heavy with the years. I had to sit down, and I collapsed into what had once been my throne, the giant overstuffed armchair next to the table with the good reading lamp. I picked up the book on the table, opened to the bookmark, read the last sentences she had. This was all mine now, but I would trade it for one more day with her.
