It was my job to pull the alarm. That was our agreed-upon signal to start. As soon as the fire alarm started ringing throughout the building, we would all spring into action. We had been over the plan a thousand times. This plan was made months ago. We would use the chaos of a building evacuation to get in, take what we were after, and get out. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. But there was a problem. The cheap bastards never tested these alarm switches, probably never had since they were installed, and this one wasn't working. I started to panic...
