It gave me a fright, I’m not ashamed to admit. There sat Carly, grin barely disguised on her face, watching me lift the mug to my mouth to take a sip of her lovely chamomile tea—she’s a nice girl—and the whole time I’m wondering if she’s done something funny like switched it out for lemonade or put my medication in it to try and trick me into taking it all. Then I looked down and saw the eyes peeking up. Good thing she was ready for my reaction, because that mug went flying. It’s my favorite mug now.
