magisternihil's 100-word story for May 19, 2026
magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on May 19, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
The problem with being a, you know, “artwork brought to life by the accidental coinciding of a freak lightning storm, a passing vagabond singing an off-key rendition of the monks in 1990’s ‘Sadeness (Part 1)’ by Enigma, and a malfunctioning security light strobing in the right sequence, all combining to summon life from the Universe and infuse said life into the paint barely dried on a nearby wall,” is that now I have to roam a city stuck to surfaces decorated by the most ridiculous attempts at creativity. I mean, what is that thing up there supposed to be, anyway?
