JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on May 19, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

"Well...that's...something," she thought to herself as she walked by the creepy structure that she passed every single day to work. Just yesterday she'd decided to stop and look up at the strange barbed wire fencing that had been added to the roof of it only a few days before that. Fast forward to this morning and there was now a painted figure on this side of it betwixt the myriad of trash graffiti. It probably wouldn't have caused her any sort of pause...except that it looked eerily like her...and...it was also staring atop the building.
