"Mom, what are all these weird little plastic boxes?" "Those are cassette tapes." "...is that like washi tape?" It's at moments like these when I wish my life was on cassette tape so I could be kind (to myself) and rewind. Then I tried to come up with a clever philosophical statement about how in a way yes those tapes are much like washi tape in that they both... but it's been a long day and this conversation is already making me feel the weight of my years. "No, honey, they have music on them." "Really? How do we listen?"
