The prince paddled down the canal, hoping to find the old witch. He was ready to make amends and beg if necessary. She had turned him into a swan with her curse, which sounds better than it is. Princesses are always out here kissing frogs. They will barely look at a swan. A swan is just an ornament, a beautiful graceful entity on the waterway to be admired from afar. It's been thirty years and not so much as a smile from a would-be savior in all those years. "I just hope that old witch hasn't passed on by now."
