“Here’s another one,” said Zinnia. The scowl on her face told Lorcan what he needed to know. “That sick man! That vile, cruel creature!” Lorcan spat. “Not only does he take another of our trees, but he mocks us in the act. Zinnia knelt and traced the grooves of the smile cut into the heart of what remained of the tree. “There’s nothing left to do or say,” she said. She stood and looked in the direction of the small structure the man had built. Around her, hundreds of creatures appeared from the foliage, their eyes all filled with vengeance.
