The shiny plaque underneath the giant head claimed it was a statue carved in tribute to an emperor, but Ut knew better. He was there. Not only that, he was the cause. He still remembered the feeling of sinking his blade into the “invincible” giant’s heart. As the tyrant’s body turned to stone it had spat as its last words, “I will always be remembered.” “No one here knows who you were, what you were,” said Ut quietly to the giant face. “I made you that promise and it has been kept.” Ut walked away smiling, feeling lighter than air.
