In the cheese caves we are all the same. No hierarchies can exist here. No pyramids of struggle. No pharaohs. No slaves. We all believed that. We lived our lives, tending the wheels of cheese. All doing our part. Selflessly sacrificing ourselves for the love of the lifestyle. And then she appeared among us. Sent to our sacred cave from the outside. As punishment? But how could this be punishment? This place where we toiled. Our sweaty hole. Our… prison? As she planned her escape, we began to yearn for something we’d never known or wanted. The smell of freedom.
