magisternihil's 100-word story for June 11, 2026
magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 11, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
I came to the beach to be alone, to feel the sand between my toes, the ocean lapping at my heels, and the thoughts clearing from my head. And now there’s another person. Is it another person like me wishing for all the world to be released from the demands of interaction? Or perhaps a lunatic wandering the sands waiting for an unsuspecting victim, a potential meet-cute turned murder mystery due to insanity? Have they noticed me? Are they having the same thoughts about me right now? I should go. I don’t belong here. This is their beach. Sorry. Sorry.
