It's not the greatest campsite to look at it. But it has a lot of benefits. For one thing, we're right on a sandbar, so it's not too far to carry water for cooking and bathing. Sure, you gotta pitch your tent a long way away from the fire so you're not sleeping on a flood plain, but that's not so bad either. Truth is, the other guys can get a little rowdy after a hunt and sometimes I just want to crash without listening to Ed tell the story about the one that got away for the 90th time.
