magisternihil's 100-word story for June 27, 2026
magisternihil wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on June 27, 2026. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
The original plan had been to position agents in every household. The plain appearance had been chosen because the human children seemed to like clothing things. What better way to observe the leaders than from the pocket of their doting offspring. After deployment it became obvious that our lack of facial features was more of a bane than a blessing. Little children recoiled at our lack of expression, and we quickly became relegated to the artist studios. Nothing to be gained here being stared at by dreamy thinkers. Still, I’m a stop-motion star now, so it’s not a total waste.
