When facing the overwhelming power of natural forces, it is important to breathe. That will calm you down, put you back in your body. It makes you feel alive again, takes away that momentary realization that each and every one of us is just a gnat in the grand scheme of things. Some people are more well-equipped to deal with that kind of realization. A lot of people panic, though, when they realize that their lives are just specks on the cosmic windshield, waiting to be washed off the next time God takes the ol' jalopy down to the carwash.
