magisternihil's 100-word story for June 30, 2026

I don’t make it a habit of waking up in a truck, I assure you. I actively avoid it, truth be told. But there I was, sweating so hard you’d think I just crawled out of the ocean, with a tire jack stabbing my side. Whatever kind of car I was in, it wasn’t modern enough to have one of those “easy-open” levers. I couldn’t remember how I got there. I just knew if I didn’t get out soon I would melt into a puddle. No safety lever, but I had a jack, right? Time to put it to work.
