joeislove's 100-word story for June 30, 2026

Betty Reynolds, of High Point, North Carolina, had never bothered to get her driver's license. Seemed like a foolhardy thing to need to do, if you wanted to know her opinion on the matter. She'd started running shine for her grandpappy at the age of twelve, and by the time she turned sixteen and could take the test, she'd already driven more miles through the twisting mountain roads than most people would do in twenty years of driving. She sure as hell wasn't going to let some government goon tell her if she could drive. They can't even catch her.
