We paused, there in the sheltering shade of the narcissus trees, listening to the gentle and alluring sounds of the lake. This was it. The most obvious trap so far, but the one that might finally ensnare us. Because even knowing what lay at the end of that path, we could not help but feel drawn to walk it. Full of the terrible knowledge of what awaited us at the end of this path, our hearts yearned, almost leaping from our chests, pulling us forward. I can almost see the fey beasts, fangs bared, eyes gleaming. I welcome my fate.
