How many workers toiled and swore sweated and bled to move the stones place them at the sacred spot orient them making twenty-five ton chunks move sixteen miles all so a group of druids could tell the seasons with shadows? Were they workers or slaves? Did they believe in what they did or chalk it up to the insanity of the hairy men in robes who chanted blessings as they lifted not a finger to make their dreams a reality? I think of them when I'm too tired to get out of bed. I wonder how loudly they would laugh.
