Jackal's 100-word story for May 16, 2025

Jackal wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on May 16, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

Dad never let me drive the car. Erik and Jason could because they were men but I couldn’t. They would always say “you can’t drive” and “get out from the front seat”. But I desperately wanted to drive. I’ve ridden in the car multiple times and the wind through the windows and sounds of the other cars were so exhilarating. So to be able to control where we went was something I needed. Then one Sunday while everyone was out in the yard, I jumped in the car…. but realized I didn’t know how to drive with my four legs.
