A pleasant day with birdsong and a slight breeze lulls even the glummest person out of their house eventually. That's what they count on. Do you hear the susurrus beckoning? Whispering to you that perhaps today is the day you step off the path, stroke their bark, feel the roughness hiding a soft, welcoming center inside? You just want to wrap your arms around them, don't you? Give them a squeeze. Become one with nature. Go ahead, but be warned. Choose the wrong tree and everything may change. That bark can have quite the bite. Sometimes the trees hug back.
