magisternihil's 100-word story for May 20, 2025

It took him years. He started with a hole, dug for a bird feeder. That was when he noticed the special stone hidden under the turf. So he continued digging. After a while he realized there was no pattern to it, like the stone had been fluid, and then had been stopped in a moment of time. As he removed the dirt the shape became more evident, though it was practically fluid in appearance. So, of course, he had to make use of that. With one call to the fire department Frank had the coolest swimming pool in the neighborhood.
