James made some small adjustments to angle, cranked the winch a few more notches, and held torch above the oil-soaked boulder. This was to be the first strike in what could be a very long siege. They'd never see it coming, those bastards. To think that mere months ago, they'd thought that the people in that castle were benevolent, that they actually cared what was happening in the rest of the kingdom. But all had since been made clear. Lord Bloheart rode back and forth before the line of trebuchets, rallying his people. The next princess WOULD agree to marry.
