He squints up at the sun, watching the plane pass for the third time. “We better get inside, Junior,” he says to the greasy teenager beside him. “The smoke falls faster when it’s cold.” “Aw, Pops, them chemtrails ain’t hurting us,” Junior whines. “Suit yourself.” Pops heads in as the mist descends, and takes notes from behind the glass doors while Junior screams and writhes. He’d forget the pain by tomorrow. Hell, he doesn’t even remember Pops isn’t actually his Pops.” “Subject has no memory for 37th consecutive day. He does not seem to notice his skin slowly peeling off.”
