Milton was having a bad day. He hadn’t meant to open his umbrella inside. It popped open on its own accord but there he stood, open umbrella, gasps from onlookers, and he knew the bad luck was on him. He quickly rushed outside, right under a workman’s ladder, and paint fell and splashed all up his trouser leg. He heard a hiss and saw a black and white cat glaring at him before it crossed his path. Then he realized the paint was white. He should have looked before crossing the street, but honestly, by now what was the point?
